The taxi guy, Ignacio (from Fermosa), was so nice and got us to our destination safely and fast. Very friendly and had some interesting stores... Like the four hours without his left hand after it was cut clean off. He had this gnarly looking scar. Great guy.
After a light lunch, we napped until around 6pm. Felt pretty good as my body was drained of all strength after the last 48 hours of packing, cleaning, and traveling. We headed out, looking for a place to eat. Unfortunately, most restaurants don't really open up for dinner until around 7:30pm.
We found a bowling place and put in ten frames each. In scored around 111, which I consider alright for not having bowled for years. I always sucked at it anyway.
We finished up and by then places were open for dinner. We found a small pizzeria and ordered a cheese pizza. United States pizza is quite a bit different than pizza you find elsewhere. This was authentic Argentine pizza, crispy thin crust, tomato sauce, and a thick layer of melted mozzarella cheese with a green olive on every slice. It was delicious.
We made our way back to the hotel. They teach tango here, but I'm not much of a dancer, so we sat in the courtyard and took in the scenery. A cat immediately showed up and vied for affection. We made our way up to a terrace overlooking the courtyard and met other people staying here. One guy from New Zealand and another from Napa, California. Everyone is really friendly here. Even though I've never been to Buenos Aires, it feels really familiar due to the fact that it looks so similar to other Argentine cities I have been to.
We made a quick trip to a small food market to pick up some máte and then came back to the hotel to relax. So far, it's been an awesome, relaxing 12 hours. This "hotel" has been awesome. They upgraded us to the best room due to the fact that over of the guests wanted to stay an extra day in the room we were to get. Score.
Tomorrow we travel to the north (Chaco).
