We went to the Oceanside pier with the Colton's and walked out to the Ruby's at the end. It was pretty awesome, lots of people fishing, not a whole lot of catching. The water was beautiful, the sun was out and the traffic was not bad. We then went to an Argentine restaurant in San Marcos. We got the sampler platter for two. Bunch of different cuts of meat. It was pretty good. Finally tried morcilla, and it was not very appetizing. The chorizo was not very authentic, but the rest of the meat was not bad... hardly exclusively Argentine... should have went with empanadas or millanesa.
We then booked it down I-15 to Rancho Peñasquitos. It was a very nostalgic visit. We drove by the house and checked out the schools and Houle's hill. We stopped at Hilltop Park and let the kids play for a bit. It is an awesome facility; two big green areas, two playgrounds, a pavilion, a building with public restrooms, and rooms for classes. Plenty of parking and vending machines. Really awesome. After getting the kids into the van, we grabbed slurpees at the 7-11 and then took Black Mountain Road, drove by the Stake Center and connected to Mira Mesa Blvd and headed to the coast. We got back to camp and we all went to Rubios for dinner. Not a bad day.
