In the past I've ganrnered a deserving reputation for being able to "get" anyting and everything. Sad to say that most of the methods used to acquire said goods were questionable at best. So in the past year or so, I've tried to weed out this reputaion by trading out all the software that I was using, shall we say, inappropriately with either a legit copy of said software or completely free versions. I have assembled a list of software that I use on a daily basis. Most of it is as good or better as a commercial program. A lot of it is easier on older systems that may struggle with newer, bloated commercial software.
I am open to suggestions.

what about winff?
Great idea, I love it. Why didn't you ever tell me about virtual dub?
i thought about winff, and it may go on later, but i wanted a quick list of generic software. I already have autoMKV on there as an encoder, but winff is pretty awesome as well. have you used vdub before? it's not like a standard video editor ala premiere or to a lesser extent widows movie maker. but it's nice to clean up video and split/join/trim/cut/encode.
