Iron Man

Last night Cynthia and I dropped lil' Alex off at the Wood's and went out on an old fashioned date. We ate at Red Robin, went to the movies, and then finished off the evening at Cold Stone.

I've got to say this about the movie, PURE AWESOME. Iron Man is the best Marvel comic book adaption to date. They seemlessly and naturally tell the story of Iron Man and include just enough lore and closure to make this a movie that can stand on its own and have a sequel. Not one slow moment. The actors are spot on in their rolls. It was just a fun movie. And the short clip at the end of the credits was a nice hint of things to come.

Another enjoyable part of the movie was the previews. I think this was the best line-up I have ever seen. First up was Incredible Hulk. I was a fan of the first Hulk, unlike 99% of everyone who watched it, so it may make my opinion moot, but this one looks to up the ante. A clean cast of actors and finally a tanglible enemy. It looked really good. Even my wife thought it looked good... well at least compared to the first one. Next up was The Dark Knight. I've seen the trailer before on the internet, but it looked so good on the big screen. Cynthia stated that we could see it "but only because it had Heath Ledger". I take whatever I can get. The rest of the previews followed: Indy IV, Don't Mess with the Rohan, The Love Guru, The Happening.

Overall, I think I got my $10 worth.

4 out of 5 for Iron Man.

Is that $10 per person? Sheesh, movies are outrageous these days. Sounds like a good time though.

yeah, although i think technically it's $9.50 ea. but someone has to foot the bill for all the pirating that is supposedly "killing hollywood"... maybe if they ade more movies like this, money wouldn't be an issue.
