The VCR Mod

Here's a little project I've been working on. It's by no means eloquint nor hard. All I used was a dremel tool, some liquid nails, hot glue, and some bolts and nuts (motherboard standoffs). The power supply and hard drive are not fastened to the box at all-something I hope to remedy later. Anyway, here's the pics.

It was fun to build. I'll post my two HTPC boxes I built later. I in no way claim an expertise. In fact all thee of my projects (boxes) were lazy attempts at best. But I think they're awesome.

so what's the reason for doing this in a vcr? just because it's cool or was there another function of it? pretty sweet.

just to do it. Like the video says, it's running Windows Server 2008 and i plan to use it (for now anyway) to be a dedicated server for some of the games I play. But as far as using it all the time, that's not happening just yet.

What, not a single mention of the person who gave you the idea? I am insulted! Just kidding. The project looks good.

Well, in all honesty, it has been done before. But yes, yours was the final inspiration to get mine done. ha ha, how is that going by the way?

Oh, I wasn't claiming to be the first person to think of it. Anyway, that doesn't matter, it looks good. But seriously dude, its like you never listen to my plans that I tell you. I am not doing one right now, I am just having my htpc underground. So at this point I don't have a need for my vcr computer. Plus, I don't have all the extra parts you do. You should open up your own shop!

haha, i know of your plans, i just thought you'd do the VCR on the side. you know, make it, but then if you need the parts, you cannibalize that mother. I gotz parts that's true, but most of it is garbage.
